By Author Anne L. Smith
Anne never expected to get divorced a second time, but after a thirty-year commitment to her relationship, she realized she had lost herself. She began researching the process of getting divorced later in life. She was shocked to learn about the phenomenon known as gray divorce, a term that describes the rise in divorces among those aged 50 and older. As she learned more, she recognized that she was not alone and that it was time to reclaim her life. Gray Divorce: My Life Rewritten is her personal account of self-exploration and rediscovering her joy.

From the Author
Books have always been a part of my life. They open windows into other worlds, allowing us to see life through different paradigms. A well-written book takes readers on a unique journey, leaving footprints on their hearts for years. Words are, after all, the voice of the heart.
As a child, I often climbed trees to read books. Sitting up there in my perch, I dreamed of being a writer. That dream stuck with me into adulthood, and although I dabbled at times with writing, my dreams grew distant as life took its twists and turns.
On the cusp of my 60th birthday, I quietly imploded my 29-year marriage and began a deeply personal journey to find myself. I had journaled faithfully in the months leading up to my decision to divorce. I continued journaling through a year of therapy as I focused on uncovering the truth behind two failed marriages. Those journal pages became the first flicker of an idea to write about my gray divorce experience.
